1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on the features you use and the permissions you provide.
Information we do not need
Spend Savvy does not require your bank account password, card PIN, or banking credentials simply to record expenses manually. Do not enter sensitive credentials into transaction notes or AI prompts.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain Spend Savvy's core features.
- Store and synchronize your account and financial records when cloud features are enabled.
- Calculate budgets, totals, reports, spending analytics, goals, challenges, and other in-app results.
- Provide optional AI-powered features that you request and authorize.
- Improve reliability, diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and maintain app security.
- Measure app usage and campaign performance where analytics/advertising services are enabled and permitted.
- Communicate with you about your account, service changes, security, or support requests.
3. Optional AI Features & Google Gemini
Spend Savvy may use Google's Gemini API to provide optional features such as spending analysis, natural-language questions, categorization, summaries, or other AI-generated responses.
What may be sent
Depending on the AI feature you use, this can include your question, selected income/expense information, transaction categories or summaries, budget information, savings-goal information, and other context necessary to generate the response.
Your permission
Before financial or other personal information is sent to a third-party AI service, Spend Savvy provides an in-app disclosure identifying the service and the relevant data. AI processing is enabled only after the required permission is provided. If you decline, Spend Savvy will not send that information to Gemini for the affected AI feature.
Google's processing
Gemini API processing is subject to Google's applicable terms and data-handling practices. For paid Gemini API services, Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve its products by default, while limited retention may occur for abuse monitoring; project logging and optional data sharing can change how data is stored or shared. We do not enable optional sharing of your API logs with Google for model improvement unless we separately disclose and obtain any permissions required for that use.
See Google's Gemini API data logging policy for current details.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong password and keep your authentication information private.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and financial information for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect our service. Retention periods can vary by data type and service.
When you delete your account, we initiate deletion of the account and associated data that we are not required or permitted to retain. Some limited information may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Account Deletion & Your Privacy Choices
If you have an account, you can initiate account deletion directly in Spend Savvy through the account/privacy settings. The deletion flow is intended to remove the account and associated personal data that we are not legally required to retain.
You may also control optional AI processing through the app's privacy settings. Where applicable, you can manage analytics, advertising, device permissions, and other privacy choices through the app or your device settings.
Apple requires apps that support account creation to provide an in-app account deletion mechanism. citeturn0search4

Spend Savvy is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
9. International Processing
Depending on where you live and which services are enabled, your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take reasonable steps to ensure applicable contractual, technical, and legal protections are applied to such processing.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
Spend Savvy may link to third-party services such as app stores or external websites. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review them before providing information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, data practices, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
